We often hold silent auctions, in person and online to raise money for Kidsave. Proceeds support Kidsave’s programs for older foster youth and orphans who need families. The auctions are fun and people love to bid to win! We collect items for auctions year-round.
1. Look for items: Donations could include retail merchandise, new electronic items, restaurants, hotel stays, tickets to sports events and plays, lessons & services, stays at vacation homes, and unique experiences (such as a meal or a meeting with an influential person, a special tours or adventure, etc.) (2-3 hours)
2. Share Ideas: If you have ideas, please tell us your idea and we can provide you with materials (contribution form sample letter, etc.) you'll need. Call Shirene in California at 310-642-7203 or Katya at 202-539-1024 in the Washington, D.C. area to share your idea and see if it would work in an auction! (1 hour)
- Send an email or letter to make your ask: We will provide you with all you need to ask for auction items. (2-3 hours)
- Follow up: If you haven’t heard back after making your requests, it’s always good to send a follow up, (1-3 hours)
