Randi Thompson
President, CEO and Co-Founder
When Randi Thompson visited an orphanage in Kazakhstan more than 20 years ago, she saw teens forced to move out with no place to go, no skills, and no hope. Inspired to create a new future for these kids she went to work building Kidsave programs and she hasn’t stopped since. Randi is a 30-year veteran of outcome-based marketing and communications projects designed to effect social change. In 2016, Randi was awarded the Department of Health and Human Services Children’s Bureau Adoption Excellence Award for Child Welfare/Judicial Systems Change for Weekend Miracles.
Randi is active in the Equity Committee of the Foster Together Network a group working to increase and enhance the provision of culturally responsive and competent care for Black children, in an effort to facilitate well-being and improve their life outcomes.
To Randi, a mother, wife, daughter, sister, and grandmother, family is everything.
Lauren Reicher-Gordon,
Senior Vice President
Director, Family Visit Programs
Lauren directs Kidsave’s Family Visit Programs and is our Master Trainer. She is the energy behind Summer Miracles, built Weekend Miracles Los Angeles into a successful program and she is responsible for program expansion. Lauren has been an excellent advocate and is passionate about finding permanency for older foster youth and was recognized in September 2018 by the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute with the Angels of Adoption award. A tenacious advocate for children, she raised three children while finding families for thousands.
Lauren oversees Weekend Miracles Houston as well as all Summer Miracles Programs and directly manages Weekend Miracles Los Angeles.
Tanya Stafford
Vice President
Director, Eastern Europe and CIS
Tatiana Stafford oversees Kidsave’s work in Eastern Europe and The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). She has built a variety of mentoring programs and mentoring associations with a focus on at-risk and institutionalized youth. Tatiana has a unique ability to grow and develop programs and align partners. She has worked in the US, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Latin America.
Ted Hannan,
Vice President
Director, Revenue Enablement
Ted leads revenue generation and overseas finance at Kidsave. He brings with him an accomplished background in marketing, customer experience, and supporter acquisition and retention. Before Kidsave, Ted served as Chief Revenue Officer for Amora Coffee. Prior, he served for 4 years as an integral member of the Integrated Marketing & Fundraising team at Save the Children. Before that, Ted spent 21 years of his career at Reader’s Digest, where he developed digital and direct consumer marketing strategies to drive revenue, customer retention, and acquisition. Ted holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Albany and a Masters in Information Systems from Pace University, NY.
Ted enjoys watching sports with his family in his free time. He’s an avid sports fan and retired volunteer baseball, basketball, and football coach. He currently resides in Sandy Hook, CT, with his wife and two boys.
Tabitha Charlton
Director, Weekend Miracles Houston
Tabitha Charlton directs Kidsave’s Weekend Miracles Houston Program, which launched in June of 2020. She is a licensed attorney and business development professional with more than twenty years of experience in the legal, marketing and business services industries. A certified mediator and experienced family law attorney, Tabitha is a passionate advocate in matters involving child welfare, domestic violence, and assisted reproduction. Having personally experienced the child welfare system as an older child and teen, Tabitha was determined to make a difference for older kids in the system. She previously worked as the Director of Community Outreach & Marketing for ESCAPE Family Resource Center in Houston, Texas, volunteered pro bono services to The Children’s Assessment Center, was selected to speak on a panel to new volunteers of Fort Bend CASA, and is the former Chair of the Crime Victims & Survivors Committee. Most recently, she served as a member of the Texas State Bar’s Child Abuse & Neglect Committee and Chaired a subcommittee to identify a mentoring program for older foster kids in Texas that would help them find permanent, loving homes. Her search led her to Kidsave and she has since worked tenaciously to develop the necessary collaborations and partnerships to launch Kidsave programs in Texas. Her goal is to develop Kidsave Texas Weekend Miracles programs throughout the lone star state within the next 10 years.
Liz Crozer
Director, Development
Liz Crozer brings over twenty years of nonprofit fundraising experience at a variety of nonprofits in Southern California, including USC, KCET, and LA Opera. She comes to Kidsave from Casa Youth Shelter, where she led all development-related activities and strategies, including major gifts, corporate partner programs, and annual giving.
A native of Los Angeles, she holds a BA in History from UC Santa Cruz, and a MA in European History from UC Los Angeles. In her spare time, she loves music, crocheting, debating movies with friends, and hanging out with her feisty but delightful cat, Kojak.
Kim Tracy Prince
Director, Marketing and Communications
Kim is a seasoned strategist, content producer, and storyteller with experience in multiple industries including education, non-profit, digital media, and television production. Before Kidsave, Kim led marketing and communications at the Pepperdine Caruso School of Law. She earned her bachelor's degree at the University of Notre Dame, and her MBA at Pepperdine's Graziadio Business School. Kim lives in the Los Angeles area with her husband, two teenagers, and a cat.
Jenny Lawhorn Sammis
Director, Washington DC
Jenny Lawhorn Sammis manages Kidsave’s presence and impact in the Washington DC region. She brings a passion for improving the lives of children and teens backed by two decades of experience working with nonprofits and organizations with a social mission. Before joining Kidsave, Jenny worked with Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance which works to protect children’s health through immunization. She has also contributed to AARP, Smithsonian Institution, World Food Program USA, astronaut Mae Jemison, and hundreds of feature films and documentaries. She began her career at NPR promoting popular programs and podcasts including All Things Considered and Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me.
Jenny is a graduate of the University of Virginia whose work has been recognized by PR News, PRSA and Virginia State Associated Press. She enjoys volunteering, knitting and enjoying the great outdoors by bicycle.
Shantay Armstrong
Manager, EMBRACE Project
Shantay (she/her/hers) is a 38-year-old Black-Jewish American single mother with two Black boys. Originally from Brooklyn, NY – Shantay moved to Los Angeles with her family in 2018. Shantay is dedicated to compassion, wealth-building, and the liberation of Black peoples. She believes in the possibility of all people achieving their full power in joy and light. She brings extensive experience to the Kidsave team of working in low-income communities of color in New York City, the Bay area, and now LA – at Seamen’s Society for Children and Families, Early Childhood Mental Health Center, and United Ways of California respectively.
Shantay is the leader of the EMBRACE Project, a DEI initiative working to decrease barriers for Black foster youth and families, increase wellness, and impact policy implications from 2025 and beyond.
When she’s not working towards freedom, Shantay enjoys playing video games, rollerblading, and meditating with her kids on the beach.
Ashlee Evans
Manager, Weekend Miracles Houston
Ashlee Evans, a Sam Houston State University graduate, has an undergraduate degree in Political Science and a Masters in Public Administration. Ashlee developed a passion for advocating for at-risk youth when working for a child-placing agency where she recruited, onboarded, and trained families to become foster or adoptive parents. Through her experience working in foster care, Ashlee became a community advocate in the anti-trafficking movement, where she trained the community, local law enforcement, and other partnering agencies in human trafficking and the need to band together. Ashlee is very involved in her community and has previously served as an advisor and board member for a local non-profit serving expecting mothers. Ashlee believes it takes a village, and she is passionate about making a difference in the community and advocating for our most vulnerable population.
Sandra Gutierrez
Manager, Weekend Miracles Los Angeles
Sandra Gutierrez is the Los Angeles Weekend Miracles Program Manager. Sandra oversees the day-to-day recruiting, training, retention of host families, and matching of youth with host families. Sandra has ten years’ of experience working in child welfare, specifically in foster care and adoption.
Sandra has previously worked at a Los Angeles-based Resource Family Approval agency as a social worker monitoring the day-to-day care of children in resource homes and, most recently as a program manager. Sandra has experience working at the county level in Northern California as a social worker with the Resource Family Approval program and the Centralized Placement Support Unit.
Sandra received her MSW from California State University Sacramento as a CALSWEC Title IV-E recipient.
When she’s not working you can find Sandra cross stitching, tending to her plants and acquiring copious amounts of crafting supplies.
Tammy Yarborough
Manager, Weekend Miracles Virginia
Tammy Yarborough is the Virginia Weekend Miracles Program Manager. Tammy oversees the day-to-day recruiting, training, retention of host families, and matching of youth with host families. Tammy has over 19 years of experience working in child welfare.
Tammy previously worked for ten years in the non-profit sector before transitioning to child welfare at the county level in both North Carolina and Virginia. Her programs included Child Protective Services, In-Home Services, and Foster Care as both a line worker and a supervisor.
Tammy received her M.J. in Children's Law and Policy from Loyola University School of Law—Chicago and her M.S. in Human Services from Capella University.
When not working, Tammy enjoys reading, RV camping, spoiling her pups, and cheering on the Red Sox.
Natalia Kravchuk
Head of Subdivision, Ukraine
Nata joined Kidsave to help Ukrainian orphans find forever families and mentors. Prior to working at Kidsave, she gained a lot of experience in spending time with children from institutional care and was engaged in various volunteer activities.
She has a Masters in Linguistics, International Relationships and Finance. Her passion is helping the most vulnerable and engaging others in this important process. Nata believes that if every person does a little thing to help others, this world would become a much better place.
Nata likes to spend her free time reading books, studying psychology, and traveling and visiting new places.
Shirene Miller
Manager, Data
Shirene has worked for Kidsave since 2003. Shirene manages Kidsave’s donor database, is our resident “eagle eye” proofreader, and works closely with our grant writing team on LOIs and applications. Her prior experience was consulting for tax-exempt organizations at KPMG.
Claudia Munoz
Manager, Program Operations
Claudia holds a Master of Science in Global Supply Chain Management from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. Before joining the team full time, Claudia served as an Intern with Kidsave and had volunteer at various other organizations within the Los Angeles area. Claudia’s goal is to improve the program’s logistical and operational processes in order to support program expansion.
Chloe Fuller
Assistant Manager, Communications and Research
Chloe joins Kidsave with a background in research and education, dedication to children's rights and LGBTQ+ rights, and a lot of enthusiasm. Before joining Kidsave, Chloe worked for the University of North Alabama as a research assistant in Restorative Justice and Higher Education in Prison. Her research regarding the foster care to prison pipeline led her to Kidsave.
Chloe has a Bachelor of Science in Communications from the University of North Alabama and a Master of Arts in Writing from University College Dublin in Dublin, Ireland. According to her professors, Chloe was the first person from the state of Alabama to complete the MA in Writing at UCD.
Sarah Bertholf
Coordinator, Development
Sarah Bertholf has been a dedicated member of Kidsave’s team since 2012. Her journey with Kidsave began as a volunteer in our D.C. office and has transitioned to one of an Office Manager, and now Development Coordinator! She describes herself as our D.C. “jack of all trades,” providing her expertise in a variety of areas including website tasks and assisting our Weekend Miracles, Summer Miracles, and Development teams.
When she’s not working, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and pets, and exploring the Metro area!
Alexis Leal
Coordinator, Development
Alexis graduated from Woodbury University with a degree in Business Administration and is passionate about business development and joining organizations that make a meaningful impact. His experience ranges from mentoring to serving as Vice President of the Collegiate Entrepreneurship Organization. His journey with Kidsave began as an intern, where he discovered his passion for Kidsave's mission and later advanced into his current role as Development Coordinator. Outside of work, Alexis enjoys watching sports and spending quality time with family.
Jacky Hernandez
Coordinator, Weekend Miracles Los Angeles
Jacky graduated from San Francisco State University with an undergraduate degree in Sociology and a minor in Criminal Justice. During her time in San Francisco, she gained experience working in non-profits which helped low-income youth express themselves through poems and sports. Driven by her passion for working with youth, Jacky joined Kidsave. When Jacky is not busy at the office, you can find her at a soccer field or at the gym.
Milan Lay
Coordinator, Marketing and Communications
Milan joins Kidsave with a passion for communications and nonprofits. When she has time, she enjoys completing pro bono social media work for nonprofits across the country. Milan has a Bachelor of Arts in Civic Communication and Media from Willamette University. Milan previously worked in development and communication for an LA nonprofit before joining the Kidsave team. She’s looking forward to working with the communications team at Kidsave and helping kids find their forever families.
When she’s not working, Milan enjoys taking photos of nature, watching comedies, and baking chocolate chip cookies.
Erica Santana
Coordinator, Summer Miracles
Erica graduated from Mount Saint Mary's University with a bachelor's degree in business administration. Her passion for making a difference in children's lives began during her time working with an elementary school program, where she found joy in supporting their growth and well-being.
This experience led her to Kidsave, where she started as an intern and later advanced to the role of Program Coordinator for the Summer Miracles program. In her role, Erica is dedicated to helping kids find forever families and create meaningful relationships with trusted adults. She works with our program team to increase the number of families that will host, champion, and adopt older kids in foster care.
Outside of work, Erica enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with her friends and family.
Genesis Diaz
Executive Assistant, CEO
Administrator, Talent Acquisition and Human Resources
Genesis Diaz holds a double bachelors in Global Studies and Italian Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her undergraduate internships, cross-cultural experiences, and career trajectory working in educational environments that serve predominantly low-income students fostered a love and desire to work with international humanitarian aid organizations and local nonprofits that work to serve the needs of children. All of these experiences culminated in her ultimately crossing paths with Kidsave.
She is passionate about making meaningful connections and hopes to bring in like-minded talent to support and expand Kidsave's mission, vision, and amazing work worldwide.
When she's not busy at work, Genesis enjoys spending time with her loved ones, going to concerts, learning new languages, and traveling the world.
