Kidsave, an organization that advocates for change in child welfare systems so older kids grow up in families, is pleased to announce Lauren Neal’s appointment to Kidsave’s Associate Board.
Neal comes with an extensive background in youth development as a former juvenile probation officer focusing on youth in placement across Texas. After graduating from Sam Houston State University in 2007, she started supervising youth on probation living in residential treatment facilities. Neal later served Texas youth by partnering with G4S Youth Services to establish new post-adjudication facilities for probation and state-sentenced youth offenders.
“My early career gave me the passion to serve youth in all capacities. This experience impacted me deeply and continues to drive my passion for supporting youth and families,” said Neal. “Through leadership on Kidsave’s associate board, I am looking forward to continuing to champion young people, helping them find families and long-lasting support.”
Neal is the Director of Client Development at RGP Houston and works across industries with clients to build trust and partnerships. She is also an RGP peer advisor and a mentee in the firm’s mentoring leadership program.
“Lauren understands the problems older kids in the foster system are facing in Texas, one of Kidsave’s key service areas. And she also understands the importance of partnerships and relationship-building, all-important in our work with families and supporters,” says Randi Thompson, Kidsave Co-Founder and CEO. “Most importantly, Lauren is a passionate, dedicated advocate for kids, and we are grateful to have her input in our mission-driven decisions moving forward.”
Neal joins 10 other young professionals on Kidsave’s Associate Board with this appointment. Along with Kidsave’s Board of Trustees, this group supports Kidsave’s efforts and advocates for the need for families for older forgotten kids in foster care and orphanages, domestically and worldwide. She also becomes the third RGP executive serving in a volunteer leadership capacity with Kidsave. SVP Joni Noel co-chairs Kidsave’s Board of Trustees, and RGP President Tim Brackney serves on its Honorary Advisory Council.
Kidsave, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity, helps older children and teens living in U.S. residential facilities, foster homes, group homes, and orphanages overseas find forever families and lasting connections. A volunteer-driven effort, Kidsave works with governments and communities worldwide to see that no orphan or child in foster care is forgotten and grows up in a family with love and hope for a successful future.
