NOVEMBER IS NATIONAL ADOPTION MONTH – MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR OLDER KIDS IN FOSTER CARE 

Know the facts about foster care and help make a difference for older kids who are so often overlooked and forgotten.

Sadly, the stats don’t lie.

This National Adoption Month, it’s time to for all of us to step up and make a difference for older kids in foster care. 

HERE ARE SOME FACTS TO KNOW:

  • Right now, there are over 108,000 kids in foster care waiting to be adopted. 
  • The average age a child is adopted from foster care is 6. 
  • Over half of the kids in foster care waiting to be adopted are age 7 and older. 
  • Of the kids waiting to be adopted, most have spent at least 3 years in foster care. 
  • In 2023, over 18,500 kids aged out of foster care without a family or support system.
