Kidsave’s 21st Annual MiracleMakers Golf Classic took place at the stunning Pacific Palms Resort, drawing a vibrant crowd for a day of golf and giving back. The weather couldn’t have been more ideal, with warm sunshine casting a perfect backdrop for the event. Participants, ranging from business leaders to dedicated supporters, began the day with a light breakfast and freshly brewed coffee, providing the energy needed to take on the day ahead.

The golf portion featured 34 groups, each representing a company or organization, setting out to enjoy hours on the scenic course. Each team demonstrated skill, camaraderie, and, most importantly, enthusiasm for Kidsave’s mission. Among the day’s highlights was the air cannon challenge, where golfers could test their strength and precision. Players had the unique opportunity to shoot a ball far across the course with an air cannon, with the farthest shot earning a prize.

After the hours of golfing, participants transitioned into a more relaxed setting for the cocktail reception.

Shannon Scott Paul, co-chair of Kidsave’s Board of Trustees, took the stage first. In her welcoming remarks, she thanked the attendees for their commitment to the cause and underscored the importance of events like the MiracleMakers Golf Classic in driving Kidsave’s mission forward. Her words emphasized that, through collective action, it’s possible to change the lives of children in foster care and orphanages and give them the opportunity to find permanent, loving homes.

Cathy McHale, Golf Committee Chair, followed with her own words of appreciation. In her address, Cathy thanked the event’s sponsors, whose generosity made the day’s success possible. She acknowledged their vital role in supporting Kidsave’s mission and the importance of their continued partnership. Her gratitude was echoed by many attendees, recognizing that the sponsors’ contributions were key in pulling off such a meaningful and impactful event.

Next to speak was CEO and Co-Founder Randi Thompson. Randi expressed deep gratitude to everyone involved, from the volunteers to the sponsors and participants, and spoke passionately about the ongoing work of Kidsave. She specifically highlighted Kidsave’s EMBRACE project and ongoing work in Ukraine. She reminded the audience that their contributions have a direct impact on the lives of children, creating pathways to family connections that may otherwise be out of reach.

It was Clay, a former Kidsave kid, who truly moved the crowd. Clay gave a heartfelt speech about her journey from foster care to adulthood. She spoke about the crucial role Kidsave played in uniting her with the woman that she now calls her mom. Her personal story was a powerful reminder of why everyone was gathered for the day—to make more stories like Clay’s possible for other children waiting to find their forever families.

The speeches created an atmosphere of reflection and gratitude, but the evening wasn’t over yet. After Clay’s emotional address, the live auction began. Exciting items were up for bid, from exclusive travel packages to unique experiences and wine selections.
