Kidsave is pleased to announce the appointment of Vanessa Ray to its Associate Board. A consumer finance Senior Consultant with over twelve years of experience, Ray is also a mother and an advocate for young people.
Beyond her finance career, Ray runs Laila’s Luggage with her 11-year-old daughter, Laila. Together, they create travel activities for kids and provide tips and resources for adults to make traveling as a family easy. She launched the company to inspire Black families to explore the world.
Ray was drawn to Kidsave’s mission of helping older youth in foster care build strong support networks through pivotal life stages.
“I am thrilled to join Kidsave’s Associate Board. I understand the critical role that a strong support network plays in achieving success and well-being, and Kidsave is connecting older kids in foster care with those life-changing support systems,” said Ray.
Ray’s financial expertise and demonstrated experience in empowering families and children of color will be invaluable as she joins Kidsave’s leadership.

Ray earned a Bachelor’s degree from Howard University in 2012, and she and her daughter currently reside in Dallas, TX.
