Kidsave volunteer Janel B. was recently interviewed in the Spanish-speaking podcast Españolistos to discuss the Summer Miracles program.
Janel shared her experience as a longtime volunteer and the experiences of her sister-in-law who hosted and adopted two sisters through the program in 2022.
“Recently, I went to an event last week and met a very beautiful boy. I talked to him for a while and he was telling me the things he likes to do, like playing music and sports,” said Janel (translated from Spanish). “He is 15 years old and has not found a family yet. I could see that he wants a family very much and especially a family in the United States. He mentioned to me that he really wants to go to a dance for his high school graduation, that they don't have prom in Colombia and he wants to go to the prom.”
