A message from Randi Thompson, CEO of Kidsave
On this Ukrainian Independence Day we join the world in celebrating the spirit of the Ukrainian people. We celebrate our 300 volunteers and team members, our Angels of Hope. Each person has stepped up during a critical time and selflessly dedicated their lives to helping others.
To our drivers, our warehouse workers, our numerous volunteers, and our dedicated leaders, thank you for your bravery, dedication, and heroism. Because of your united efforts, more than 24,762 people have been evacuated to safety—24,762 lives saved because of you.
In addition to those evacuated, our team has successfully delivered more than 460 tons of humanitarian aid. Because of their work, thousands of people have had the food, medicine, and supplies they need to survive this crisis. With each evacuation and each delivery, they have also spread hope. They have become a symbol of selflessness, a reminder during this dark time that there is good in the world.
I want to extend my sincere gratitude to Pavlo and Olena Shulha, without whom this work would not have been possible. Thank you for your incredible leadership, sacrifice, and determination. You two are the spark that has ignited this movement, and I am continually amazed by you both.
I certainly have to say thank you to each one of our supporters, the generous people who give all they can to this incredible work. You have allowed us to keep going, to push forward, to rescue and give people the resources they so desperately need.
Rest assured that Kidsave is committed to Ukraine. We will continue to support humanitarian efforts through this time of crisis and continue our mission to find safe and loving families for orphans and provide mentorship to older youth exiting care.
Our challenge, our duty for the next 6 months is to continue to rescue families and feed, and protect the orphans we have already rescued. We are taking each step to rebuild this beautiful country and Ukrainian families.
Together, we can endure this crisis and provide a safe and bright future for the children of Ukraine.
