weekend miracles
LOS ANGELES | HOUSTON | VIRGINA
The Weekend Miracles program connects older kids and teens with mentors, host families, or adoptive families.
In 2024, we expanded this program into the Commonwealth of Virginia, and over the last year we have served 28 kids, 13 who are active participants, and six (46%) of whom have connected with host families.
In Los Angeles, we have served 87 kids throughout the year, 55 who are active participants, and 30 kids (55%) of our active participants have been connected to potential forever families or mentors.
In Houston, 51 kids participated in the program, 38 are active participants, and 32% of them have been connected to potential forever families or mentors.
What sets us apart is that we give each kid a voice and a choice in who they want to know better and who might ultimately become their forever family.
With your support we can continue to make these life-changing connections.

SUMMER/WINTER MIRACLES
For over 25 years, Kidsave’s Summer and Winter Miracles programs have been connecting children with loving families. Our current program brings older orphans from Colombia—where reunification and adoption efforts have been exhausted in their home country—to the US to stay with hosts and meet potential forever families.
For many of the kids in this program, it's their very last chance at finding a family. And it works!
This past summer, 28 kids traveled from Colombia to participate in our Summer Miracles program, and were hosted by families in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, California, Wisconsin, Iowa, Colorado, Utah, Texas, Illinois, and North and South Carolina. We’re pleased to announce that 85% of those kids are already on the journey towards adoption.
This December, another eight kids are being hosted across the US by families keen to open their hearts and homes to these amazing kids and help them realize the joy of family this holiday season.
Help change a life this Holiday Season by supporting our Summer and Winter Miracles programs.

UKRAINE
Since 2016, Kidsave’s Ukraine programs have been helping orphaned children find family and connect at-risk youth with supportive, trusted mentors. Our work has continued despite the challenges of the war. In 2024, we opened the Kidsave Miracles Center in western Ukraine to strengthen these efforts in a safe, therapeutical environment.
This year, 33 children were able to escape the turmoil of war and receive respite and therapeutic trauma-relief services at the Kidsave Miracles Center. As a result, 64% of them then reunited with their biological families or were matched with a new domestic adoptive family.
While international adoptions are currently paused in Ukraine, Kidsave continues to move children out of crowded orphanages. This year, we moved 71 children into family homes in Ukraine.
Our Corporate Mentoring program, Pathways to Success, continues to give older youth in care the opportunity to connect with professional mentors and thrive. This year, 300 teens participated in our Pathway to Success program and took the first steps toward making connections that will change their lives.
With your help, we can continue to support children who need families and mentors in Ukraine.

SIERRA LEONE
In Sierra Leone, we set out to place 200 orphans with families in 2025 and to monitor the continued safety of an additional 50 youth.
We are currently on track to meet this goal by December 31, having placed more than 150 kids as of October 1 and currently monitoring more than 50 youth.
Additionally, Kidsave provided microloans to 46 new families, bringing the total number of active participants in the microfinance program to 102.

EMBRACE PROJECT
In the US, Black youth are overrepresented in foster care and underrepresented in rates of adoption. In 2022 we initiated the EMBRACE Project, setting out to find the root causes of this imbalance and plot a path toward improving outcomes for Black youth in care.
In 2025, we’ve expanded this initiative to serve not only Black youth but all youth of color and LGBTQ+ youth in foster care.
To help support and maintain connections for these kids, we have launched a peer-to-peer support program for foster and adoptive families and implemented culturally responsive training for all Kidsave families.
Help us continue to create positive change for youth and families in child welfare by supporting Kidsave.
